During these visits, we will also be able to determine if there are any signs of decay before they worsen and cause an infection.

What Happens During a Teeth Cleaning?

Before we begin, we will first look for signs of decay, infection, or gum disease. X-rays may also be recommended depending on when you last had them.

If everything looks fine, we will begin to remove any plaque and tartar with a scaler. After the plaque and tartar (calculus) is removed, the hygienist will brush your teeth with a high-powered electric toothbrush, followed by flossing. Your visit will then come to an end with a fluoride rinse that will help protect your teeth.
